The numerous restaurants, bars and cafes sit alongside the Historical Museum with its 163,000 exhibits, the Ethnographic House, an architectural and cultural monument, the famous Icon Hall located in the Art Gallery and the “St. George” Church.

Dobrich has a special open-air architectural and ethnographic museum called “The Old Dobrich”, is a living museum that shows the architecture, the way of life, and the economic past of the town from the end of nineteenth century. Visitors to the complex can watch the manufacturing process of traditional Bulgarian crafts like tailoring, knitting, wood turning, and the goldsmith's craft, and also participate in making pottery, or visit the cafe to taste the traditional white jam and millet-ale.

Just outside the town are the Durankulak Lake and Shabla Lake reserves, home to several very rare bird species. Several kilometres southwards of Durankulak is the Cape Kaliakra Steppe Nature Reserve.

This is a coastal headland with wide-open treeless steppes cut by steep rocky valleys running down to magnificent cliffs, which tower up to 100 metres above the turquoise sea below.

Dobrich is the ideal base from which to explore the beauty of both the Black Sea coast and the Danube River Valley
